David Magee's 12th non-fiction book, The Education of Mr. Mayfield, published by John F. Blair, was recently named the top non-fiction work in the South this year in the annual IPPY awards, honoring works from independent publishers.Published in the Fall 2009 by Blair (www.blairpub.com), the true story of social change and racial struggle in the south is about a previously-untold story of friendship, differences and evolution - explaining how it all happened and how some managed to emerge still seeing the world as a place of possibility despite the pain and differences.
